2024 Legislative Priorities
The CALCCTA Executive Board, in consultation with the CALCCTA Legislative Committee, prepared a summary of 2024 Advocacy Process. This information will be updated throughout the year.
CALCCTA members are encouraged to utilize the following talking points to advocate for students statewide.
Collective body
1. Support SB 895 Roth Community colleges: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Pilot Program
The California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and Administrators supports SB 895 Roth. This bill would require the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges to develop a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Pilot Program that authorizes select community college districts to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The bill would limit the pilot program to 15 community college districts statewide.

2. Support Statewide Community College Student Housing Funding
The California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and Administrators asks the Legislature to fund approved affordable student housing projects through a statewide lease revenue bond structure.

3. Secure ongoing funding for CALCCTA ($200K from Chancellor’s Office)
