Dr. José Fierro serves as the President of the California Association of Community College Trustees and Administrators (CALCCTA), bringing his visionary leadership and extensive experience in higher education to forefront. Dr. Fierro currently holds the position of President at Cerritos Community College District, where he has successfully spearheaded innovative programs and initiatives that enhance student success and institutional growth.

With a strong commitment to educational excellence and equity, Dr. Fierro has been instrumental in implementing comprehensive strategies that address the diverse needs of students and the community. Under his leadership, Cerritos Community College has seen significant advancements in technology integration, curriculum development, and community partnerships, setting a high standard for community college education in California.

As President of CALCCTA, Dr. Fierro focuses on advocacy and policy development to support the governance and leadership of California’s community colleges. His work involves collaborating with state legislators, educational leaders, and stakeholders to promote policies that improve college access, funding, and student outcomes across the state.

Dr. Fierro holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University, complemented by a Master’s degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Havana. His academic background and leadership roles underscore his dedication to enhancing educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.
